Hit the link to go Apple’s official page giving some highlights of the features that will be coming with iOS 4.2 for the iPad.

The future behind touchscreens

Touchscreens will rule the smartphones of the future

Check out this cool concept video of how advances in touchscreen technology could shape the devices of the future. The video showcase some pretty futuristic stuff with stretchable, flexible and semi-translucent displays as well as advancements in eInk technology.

Its very exciting to see what the future of devices could look like in just four years down the road, and at the rate in which mobile devices are advancing now, the future that video predicts looks completely possible.

Though the dependent on touchscreens might not go down well with those who can’t live without the tactile pleasures of using a proper hardware keypad.

ZiiLABS Jaguar Tablet Prototype Runs

This mysterious Jaguar tablet has a ZiiLABS ZMS-20 processor as its beastly heart. It’s a unique 1.5 GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor sporting 48  (or 96 for ZMS-40) stem cell type media coprocessors. Some technical details about prototype platform and earlier demos can be found at www.ziilabs.com/ site. Another great resource is the following blog page.
As it becomes fashionable these days, the last video from ZiiLABS shows Ice Cream Sandwich. They have made no comments regarding it beyond calling it “ICS Final”. This is usually a developer’s term designating an end of a sequence of Betas and Release Candidates.
It seems that in this case ZiiLABS engineers are very proud that their Ice Cream Sandwich port runs on their Jaguar model smoother and better than anything anybody has seen so far, Google Nexus S included.
